2 years ago i ran a 1397 13.0-1 je flat tops 385 395 cams some cleaning of the head no real portwork about a 60 shot dry ran undercut trans and at 65 inch wheelbase no chasis work done to speak of and stock injectors and a brock streetsmart pipe made 276 on spray with those injectors and no retard other than running through the start switch for nos activation and that pulls out about 5 degrees of timing when activated and also used a progressive controller made right at 208 on motor only and ran 9.40 with me at 225 in leathers no lockup        i have now went to a wet kit running mtc 15.0-1 pistons with .050 milled off of the pistons and built a aftermarket fuel system running 52 psi through stock injectors and some major headwork done and making 234 on motor and q 16 fuel and spraying about 150hp bike is now going 9.00 on motor and havent made a complete pass on spray if i get the gearing right think it will go low 8s on spray maybe hi 7s by the end of the year and this is with a stock crank and i do have a lockup now as it was pulling through the clutches on spray on the dyno

stock clutch with 4 heavy brock springs and 2 light springs from brock held at 270 when i went wet it started to pull through the clutches i guess around the 300 hp range on the dyno but i do now some guys that are running real street and pushing about the same hp numbers without a lockup but it takes a hell of a forearm to pull the clutch lever back i definatly wouldnt want to run it on the street like that

Why do you not want to run a lockup?  They arent that much compared to how many clutch packs you are gonna go through.
