Troubleshooting guide/FAQ
| Problem | Possible cause | Solution |
|---|
| Bike wont start after install | Tip over sensor disconnected | ~ Reconnect sensor |
| Fuel pump fuse blown | Inspect or replace fuse ~ Inspect fuel pump wires
|
| Base fuel pressure set wrong | ~ Adjust pressure to 38-42lbs |
| Main ECM fuse blown | ~ Inspect or replace fuse (Check orange/white wire for short to ground)
|
| Fuel pump not getting fuel | ~ Check supply line for kinks ~ Check fuel level in tank ~ Check supply line for obstruction
|
| Return line to tank kinked | ~ Check return line for kinks ~Check return line for obstruction
|
| Ignition kill device cutting ignition | ~ Inspect any ign. kill devise ~ Check for 12v on grey wires at coils
|
| Bike runs very rich will not idle | Factory map sensor not hooked up | ~ Check vacuum line for connection ~ Check vacuum line for cuts ~ Check one way check valve on map line |
| Base fuel pressure set to high | ~ Adjust fuel pressure to 38-42lbs |
| Injector(s) hanging open | ~ Check injector wires or injectors |
| Bad map in secondary controller | ~ Check the fuel map to see if the secondary injectors are firing below 100kpa. If so reload fuel map
|
| Bike backfires under boost | Map line not hooked to controller | ~ Inspect Vacuum line for cuts or kinks ~ Check for map line connection at controller and throttle bodies ~ Check for any leaks in map line to controller if any other items are on the same line as the controller (ex. Boost gauge,B.O.V.,ect)
|
| Controller not seeing 12V signal | ~ Check wiring repair or replace ~ Check led on end of case it should light up if controller is recieving 12v signal
|
| Fuel map to lean | ~ Check for proper AFR and remap accordingly |
| Sec. inj. wire not connected | ~ Check connectors on inj. if bad fix or replace |
| Controller is resetting | ~ Check all grounds clean and repair (controller will also reset if the power is cut or spikes on the 12v source wire) ~ Ensure no ignition kill devices are placed on the 12v source wire to controller
|
| Bike misfires under boost | Fouled plugs | ~ Replace with factory spec plugs |
| Spark plug gap set to wide | ~ Plug gap should be .018-.020 |
| Ignition kill device defective | ~ Repair or replace |
| Fuel pump starving for fuel | ~ Check fuel level and supply line to pump for kinks |
| Bike runs good but doesn't pull hard under boost | Clutch slipping | ~ Check clutch for excessive wear on fibers or steels plates replace if found to be bad or out of spec
|
| Clutch springs to weak | ~ Replace with stronger replacement springs |
| Air filter clogged | ~ Clean filter or replace |
| FI light comes on while bike is running | Fuel level sensor disconnected | ~ Check wiring to sensor |
| Check valve on factory map sensor bad | ~ Inspect check valve for proper operation |
| Check ignition kill device | ~ Change to a known ignition kill box that wont cause this |
| Bike overheats after the install | Cooling system is air locked or low on coolant | ~ Check coolant level and burp cooling system |
| Cooling fan not working | ~ Check fan wiring and fuse |
| Head gasket blown or leaking | ~ Inspect and replace if found to be leaking |
| Bike builds to much boost | Waste gate signal line kinked, cut,or loose | ~ Check signal line and replace or fix |
| Waste gate diaphragm bad | ~ Check with air supply for leaks |
| Waste gate valve sticking | ~ Check for valve movement with air supply |
| Turbo exhaust housing needs porting | ~ Have a trained professional port housing |
Bike will not build boost under load (CAUTION DO NOT RIDE BIKE IF IT WILL NOT BUILD THE PROPER AMOUNT OF BOOST TURBO DAMAGE CAN RESULT FROM MAJOR BOOST LEAKS) | Watsegate seat missing or installed wrong | ~ Check to see if installed in the proper direction or missing ~ Check for proper valve operation with air supply ~Check valve stem ,valve stem guide ,and seat for excessive carbon build up from overly rich condition
|
| Boost leak at up pipe, plenum, or throttle bodies | ~ Check all clamps and hoses for cracks, cut(s) replace if bad |
| Exhaust leak from loose or cracked header | ~ Check all header bolts and gaskets or turbo Check header for cracks or leaks
|
| B.O.V not closing fully or "o"ring leaking | ~ Check for propers operation of B.O.V ~ Check "o"ring on B.O.V for cuts ~ Check vacuum/boost line for cuts or kinks
