« on: October 25, 2009, 06:14:04 PM »

My friend has a Busa with a McX upgraded kit that uses the Mitsu. 19T turbo. I might purchase this kit from him because it is intercooled and secondary injected BUT the bike started smoking especially after sitting for a week or so, it will fill the garage with smoke untill it burns it out. Still builds boost fine and runs well for that matter but obviously the turbo seals are shot, what all needs to be done to fix this the right way and who can do one of these 19T turbos? Any help is appreciated thumbs  up

Does this have to be done by a pro or can I simply get a rebuild kit and do it myself?

Why replace the wheel though if the seals are just leaking Undecided I dunno shit about it so just askin. Can I not just fix the oil seal leak or do I have to have the whole thing rebuilt? The turbo works great.......just smokes.

You should be able to just change seals if the wheel is not damaged you should be good.

you have to take the wheel off to get to the seal
if you mark it exact youd be fine but it will twist a bit when tightening

sure the seals are bad? is the bike lowered? oil level higher then the turbo shaft? breather blocked? sounds like the oil is just leaking past the seals when it is parked. most will do that if the oil level is higher then the turbo shaft. if it is cleaning out and does not continue to puff like a freight train why change it. raise the bike or lower the oil level if it is too high.
