Pinky, from what i have been reading, WOT on a stock turbo engine is limited to a short period even at lower boost levels. Is that true even if the fuel map is at 11.8 and with 92 octane?

Hahns provides a fuel mapper for the EFI. What does it do and should i install it?

Thanks,

if you dont have a pc3 then i would go to secondaries
the fmu is some of the problem because they have the chance of spiking and locking the injectors up at higher Fuel Pressure

i dont know exactly how the fuel mapper works either so i dont know
the air temp charge and fueling and other small aspects determine the longevity with WOT
i didnt have problems wioth my stage 2 with lowered comp and a cometic head gasket and ape promod studs

i wouldnt push it to be honest
but thats me some others might have other opinions

Since head gasket blowout seem to be a problem, is there better gaskets that are designed for higer combustion pressure?

I think i understand how the Hahn fuel map clamp works. it replaces the inline check valve to the IAP sensor preventing a signal to the ECM to retard the timing and fuel electrically under boost pressure, where the check valve does it mechanically.
This is just an uneducated guess.

Yes that what the mapper is for it replaces the check valves that would go to the stock map sensor.

If you are running a Stage I kit, without secondary injection or an intercooler, WOT more than a few seconds is not wise......  All you need to do is lean out a little and BOMB!!!!

Does nothing to timing or fuel , just stops a fault code from excess pressure in the IAP .

Well it attepts to solve this problem.  My GSXR keeps throwing that code still....  I think I need more check valves???

I like checkvalves beter than the clamp, IAP is to expensive if it responds badly to repeated excessive pressure.

Needed 2 checkvalves on my busa to stop the FI IAP code, thought the gsxr's were more forgiving though... could always wind back the boost  Wink    Grin

I think I need a second one on my gixxer.  No problems with the BUSA.  Problem only happens if I go from no boost to WOT and the boost just steams on, then it throws a code.  But it was my first Gixxer turbo...

i can chime in in on this one, although my experience with this was on a 10 sec import. WOT for more then 7 seconds caused the headgasket to go bye bye. luckily it was only the head gasket but i wouldn't recommend more then a few seconds on anything not fully built
