Just got my bike running after an ecu swap.  It runs like crap.  Sounds like it's missing on a cylinder, black smoke....

I remember my first turbo install, I had the bleed valves set up wrong.  It sounds like that.  I pulled that line and actually sucked on the sensor to see if there was a change but nothing happened.  Maybe the sensor is bad?

Any ideas where to start.  I've checked everything I could think of, no luck.  Any thoughts would be great.

from my experience, going from 16 to 32 bit you are generally lean as hell, my bike idle'd at like 17:1 when converted, had to add fuel everywhere, you monitoring afr?

Yeah, I've read some posts on that matter.  It was running so bad at idle I thought I got one of the pin swaps wrong or the ecu was bad.  It was running like I didn't have my IAP sensor hooked up.  I'll check my A/F and go from there.

I think the tuning issues are only for 99-00 bikes. My 01 swapped just fine with no issues and no changes at all to the harness.

There is something we have missed that is different in the 99-00 bikes.

i lost my 04 ECU a few yrs ago in tear down and used Tony's 99 ECU and it was pig rich on my bike

funny thing is that my 00 bike has a newer set of TB's and TPS sensor, and was still real lean going to 02-07, and now back on 00 ecu runs just fine, not sure what is different.

I just swapped back to the old set up.  To much bs for me to deal with right now.  I'll swap back when the season is over and play with it.  I just want to ride.  thumbs  up
