Anyone know of a boost controller that is say a 3 setting switch?

My T2 has the internal waste gate, so my minimum boost is 7 maybe 8 psi. Would like to have a small switch that I can toggle to run that, 12 psi and say 18 or what ever the combination is.

Would be nice to be able to bump the boost up when wanted and not when Im trying to actually turn this thing.

Obviously the smaller the control unit the better, Im not dealing with a busa and the space is even tighter and more of a commmodity for me.

correct me if Im wrong, that thing has all kinds of additional features like gear position controls right?

I just want simple switching. constant boost until bumped up or up up.

If I dont need to spend the money on gucci, Id like not to. I agree though, its a sweet piece of hardware.

It's prolly more for racing than it is for street. A simple soleniod/regulator set up would work OK for you. But like you said, the AMS 1000 is Gucci!  Grin

Mine is set up 2 ways on my bike. Shift based (hooked to the air shifter) and I've mounted a push button to cycle through the stages on the street. You can have up to 6 different stages on the AMS 1000.

Look for an old boost by smith 3 stage and figure who to wire it to your GPS. It can be done.

yep like joey said, or if you just want toggle switch activation
buy a couple of 6jj52 air solenoids from grainger, and a couple of adjustable muffler speed controls from mcmaster.com and couple of barbed fittings and toggle switches and you are in bid-ness

Smithabusa, I know you developed that system. Have any more info on it?

Second issue I guess is to see who knows about hacking a AF meter to make a custom one?

Id like to do something different, I read a couple things on it but dont know much about it. Im trying to not have big gauges everywhere. This bike is little and as such, Id like it to stay little.

check out the Aeroforce analogic gauge, I use it in place of multiple gauges and its very accurate. The boost is measured off a gm 3bar map sensor, I hooked up a mechanical boost gauge to compare it with, the difference was very little- 8psi showed 7.9, 15 showed 15, and 20psi showed 20.1. I also use it for a/f, fuel pressure, and egt.

there are no plans really, its a 6jj52 solenoid, and a 4zm07 pressure regulator(s) if you have external gate etc.  They aren't rocket science, coming up with a way to activate them is the tricky part

Well being that the only boost controller Ive ever seen was nothing more than a needle valve that chocked off the boost signal, I know nothing about it.

Im guessing that each solenoid is controlled with some sort of pressure switch?

Im just looking to build a simple 3 position toggle and it is internally wastegated. I think its set for 8 psi. If I run that most of the time and just flip the rocker to either of the 2 positions, I should be able to catch 12 and 18psi respectively.

I dunno........more to ponder.
