Hi guys, I was directed to this site and was hoping you could help me out. Im thinking about putting a stand alone ecu on my 12 and want to know if the microsquirt can do everything I want. I really like the size and amount of other boxes these can eliminate.
is anyone using the micro to run everything? besides the motor, 2 step, kill box, stock gauges ect? i havent been able to tell if they can do sequential injection or not yet(or if its even really needed?), but i do believe you can get the stock stick coils to work with an added piece or run wasted spark with other coils.
thanks

id talk to tony first and get his input on this
he adds a few items to his pnp to get all working well
plus he has written some code to add to the program
but they both use the same programming
i think the uS is a little limited vs the MS2 but not by much

again id speak to tony (he doesnt frequent this site at this time) he can direct you in the proper setup

The micro can do some things the MS2 cannot.  Tony hasn't had too much experience (or at least didn't have a year ago) with the micro, but it is based on the MS2 processor and firmware and Tony knows that backwards and forwards.  I am running a micro on my bike, and Tony helped me get a baseline last January, but what the micro offers in ignition capabilities it trades off in other areas to be small.  It doesn't like the stick coils without another board, but can run two Dyna's coils (what I'm running).  Both systems have their advantages.  The MS2 with the extra firmware can run just about anything, but won't accept the stock ignition pickup system so you'll have to get creative there.

I've got to come back and make a correction here.  I said the Microsquirt didn;t like the stick coils and in a sense that's true.  It can only drive two coils in wasted spark and cannot drive sticks directly, however, you can use a bosch dumb ignitor to drive four sticks in wasted spark and that's still not too expensive and very compact.  Or you can build a driver board for the sticks.  But the Bosch 211 ignitor is smaller than a zippo and will do the job well.
