BOOST BABY!

unfortunately we all have been super busy LOL.

Been messing with the gear indicator setups etc, and had a small issue on my MS that Tony is fixing now, once we get the next gen boards Tony says things will be much easier there is no jumper wires and trace fixes here and there etc.  Tony is getting it aced up this weekend and shipping back to me for some more testing.

I put about 120 miles on using it for primary control only no boosting, and it ran incredibly smooth, i hooked up the clutch wire and tested the 2 step which worked very cool as well.

Any updates on this one guys?  I've been watching for months in anticipation of getting my turbo short block back from the builder getting ready for the build-up...I'd love to be able to use a megasquirt as a standalone ECU...

I talked to Tony about it the other day. He said it was looking like spring time before it's ready.

so with this you have to buy a mega squirt and the interface board then you can run a large set of injectors with no secondaries? Does any one know what the final cost will be and will it have to be programed from the ground up or will it come with a base map installed. I'm just trying to figure out which fueling system I want to run-- Large injectors and a stand alone system or secondaries and a piggyback system or even a powercommander and hub setup. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

we are hoping to have the final cost of the standalone system in the 1000-1250 range for the whole unit (includes megasquirt)
but we havent shored up the final price yet as we are working out the final bugs

this was the last price i knew about
and we hope to send it out with a base map and you tune it from there
this will allow you to run low impedance injectors so they can be real big injectors and no need to run secondaries but can also controll secondaries so if you go secondaries then this can be added later on

Well for now I'm gonna wait on buying secondaries and just deal with the large injectors I have with the powercommander and hub set up I have. Hopefully the FMU does not crap out. I was going to try one of those ecu editors but I can't get straight answers on what it can and cant do as it pertains to turbos. Pinky if you can keep me posted on the final out come of this set up and the details of its functionality I would appreciate it. I want to upgrade my fuel system but with all these new ways to do it I want to do it in a way that I can tune and understand myself. My choices are buy a whole new secondary set up, buy you guys interface board and megasuirt set up or just leave it the way I have it and keep replacing plugs every track day.

Thanks again for the info!

there is a few posts on what the standalone can do (in the megasquirt section)
the interface board is so it will plug directly into the stock harness

the upgrade that tony offers is definitely a far superior setup to the power commander and hub IMHO
then it can be upgraded to a standalone setup later

I'm looking forward to the stand alone. Might be 2010 before I can do it, though. Cheesy

I havent been online in quite some time i have had alot of work going on i thought i would drop in a give a little update.

Well we messed around with the first IB for a while but quickly realized that two boxes were just too much hassle and wiring going everywhere so i condensed everything down to one case and added some more stuff to it.

I also have been working on my dash program trying to make sure that it works correctly and so far so good on that, im adding some support for a lcd display for the shift kill and GPS display the LCD will show the kill time ( by pushing a button) and also display the Gear position.

There is also support for gear based outputs 1 for each gear.

Fan control will be standard and im sourcing connectors to make it plug and play on the hookup.

I have a good friend that lives close to me using one now so i can get some feed back from him his bike is a NA 1397 nossmiley bike it starts really good idles real nice and sounds good so far he hasent drove it yet but as soon as the weather clears he is going to do some logging to get a base map.

Im going to send Greg and Jason out some new test boards soon to try also since they are still helping me test these out.

I have now idea on a time frame for these to be done i was hoping they would done ALONG time ago but bugs needed worked out before i went forward.

More testing to come, so far they start nice and sound really good.

Everything is full plug and play if you have a 24-1 wheel on your bike (or your bike is a 02-07) then all that is need is to run a vacuum line to under the IB unplug your stock ecu and plug this one in and hit the starter button the crank trigger input polarity is switchable on the board so you dont need to repin the harness connector ( depending on year)

Right now i have only tested them in WS i tested the first IB in both WS and COP and they worked fine the V2.0 boards will be selectable for WS or COP ignition by setting DIP switches.

I dont get to get online much to chat on the forum so if any body has any questions your more than welcome to email me for more info.

I have another IB i built for  a local guy close to me and i talked to him tonight and he did get to ride the bike ( not far too cold) but he said he ran really good his bike is a 1397 NA.

Im sure we will need to do some tunning but he said it already runs better than the Denso ECU did.
