I have a stage 1 kit with an external wastegate + Blow off Valve. I have a manual Boost controller (Turn dial). How do I set it up for 8lbs of Boost without putting it on a Dyno? Do I just punch it and watch my Boost guage and adjust accordingly?

with the boost ccontroller off is it already at 6Lbs?

back the regulator out all the way then slowly adjust it in a little at a time till you reach the desired psi
or if you have the right tools/equipment then bench test it

What type of external boost controller is it? Is it a regulator type or a simple bleed? What spring is in your gate? What type of gate? Are you using the gate as a single port or dual port?

Let me make a few assumptions:
Tial gate with 4 psi spring setup with a regulator type controller and being used as a dual port gate.

Bench setup your regulator for about 3 psi using a fairly low pressure supply air. Hook up a hose from your intake to the regulator (make sure it is on the INLET of the regulator). Hook the exhaust of the regulator to the top of your wastegate. Then hook a hose from your intake to the bottom of the gate. Run the bike so it makes full boost and adjust accordingly (increase the pressure from the regulator for more bost, decrease for less). If you can't bench test the controller, back it all the way off (letting NO air through) and increase slowly while testing to get to your desired boost.

I know it is alot of questions, but they are all needed. Also, you cannot use the controller to make less boost than the bike will make on the spring pressure alone (well, I guess technically you could, but no need to get into that..)
