here is an upgrade offered for turbo kits

a secondary upgrade consists of adding a second set of injectors (or 3rd for secondary equipped bikes)
these are added to the plenum above the TB's
there also a 1:1 reg added replacing the fmu
there is a set of 4 injectors added and a fuel rail
there is also a controller and sensors added along with a wiring harness


the advantage to adding secondaries is the control of the fuel is far superior to the fmu along with the tunability and control
the secondary setup allows for a much smoother street bike

That looks good.
Too bad the zx14 plenum is part of the frame... hmmmm.
Looks like I already have another project in the works for next winter.

This year, I'm going accumulate parts, and for now, run what I have.

What sensors are added?  If I am reflashing the ECU to run the stock injectors with an FMU, then this kit would eliminate the FMU, right?  So I would have to use the ECU for the stock injectors, then run the MS for the secondaries?

These may sound like stupid question, but this whole turbo thing is new to me and I am trying to get my little brain wrapped around this.  This sounds like something I may want to try.  Dumb it down for a fella!!  LOL!!

No sensors unless you want to tune with a wide band you will need a oxy sensor. You don't really need to tune out of boost unless your enviroment necessitates it. I live up at 5300' and a heavy rider at 280lbs. suited. I want the best performance out of boost if possible.

I use the ECU flasher for off boost tuning, timing advance, rev limit change, hard rev cut, dwell increase as well as for nitrous activation to help spool up the turbo. The MS is for on boost tuning as usual. My cut-off on the ECU tuning as far as map changes is about 5k then the MS pretty much takes it from there.

Plenum, 1:1 regulator......are you piecing together a kit?

Don't get to hung up on major tuning with the ECU flasher. A lot of guys with street kits do not use any tuner ie; PCIII, Yosh, etc.  with the MS secondaries. It seems rideability is still good while off boost. I'd use some of the other functionality built into the ECU first. If you find off boost performance needs attention then use the flasher for mild changes.

I am piecing together a kit, although everything with the exception of the turbo has been from RCC.  I am ready to buy the plenum now.  I am having trouble deciding between getting RCC Stage II plenum or getting the Stage I plenum and having the upgrade.  I have so many questions it hurts.  LOL!!  I'm a motor, nitrous guy and this turbo stuff is a whole new world.

Thanks for all the help and answers to the questions so far.  Here are some more.

Bosch 044 or Walbro 255?

Stage II plenum and buy MS seperately or get a Stage I plenum and have the upgrade done?

What BOV and Waste gate do I use?

I am looking for a honest 275 hp with the ability to bump it up later without too much hassle.

the pump is more your choice but if cost is an issue i have a couple parts id recommend

Why not finish up your kit with an RCC plenum with the BOV, everything else is from RCC.

i would get a microtech at this point.

maybe once they start getting tuned properly and more tech support i would get a ms.

had four microtech and installed two other kits with them. flawless. not a standalone, but install and go to the dyno for a test run or three to be safe. then hit the track thumbs  up

not bashing the ms, but i would hold off buying the ms until things are running smooth. sounds like two?? guys are running them with good results???

just my 2cents..............okay pinky jump in here, but be real about where the kit is NOW.

the turbo he has doesn't flow like an rcc so no map will come correct with his turbo
right? right.
so either way both will need tuned
his choice ask him which hed like
and more then 2 running fine you just don't believe it cause the others choose to stay out of your thread

hhhmmm. had a gt35, gt28, kkk27 and a t61. all ran perfect with the microtech. microtech will come with a tune for some applications, but not all.......................however, you can ride your bike to the dyno if needed. they are not a standalone, but in this case just as good or better because they are proven to perform.

if he has to tune it either way than he would be crazy not to get the RCC plenum. better made. REAL tech support. will fit under the tank. will not leak. Microtech and RCC plenum..... proven quality

if you are patient and take a little time yes you can tune the MS yourself with datalogging as long as you dont shoot for the moon right off the bat

if you tell them what you have you will be able to find a tune from the microtech vender. you will need the turbo info for them and they will tell you the secondary injectors you will need. if it is oddball they can get you close and you will need to be sure to get it on a dyno to be sure. in ANY turbo install you will want to get it on a dyno to atleast check the tune.

you better hope you can tune it yourself cause there ain't no shop that is gonna be able to help. ask boost burner about bringing your bike to the track and hoping to get tech support on the phone Roll Eyes

hey guys I was not sure on where to start !
I have a question ! I want to use portfueler stuff so I can mount the injectors underneath the throttlebodies but I want to run
tony's recommended injectors with megasquirt box and tuning from tony ! I tried reaching tony tru email with no succes !
what would be his price for the injectors with controller with basemap Huh?Huh?Huh?
the reason I want to run the portfueler setup is so I dont need to send my plenum for modification cause it will take alot of money to do since I dont live in the USA !  any information will be appreciated !!!!

Guys, another question :-)
How to solve the problem of the rich fuel while driving without a boost (AFR about 10-11: 1)?
I have tried to reduce the pressure of fuel at about 36 PSI, but still had a rich AFR.
I tried using the Power Commander, but I'm not satisfied with the engine running. :-(
