I need to know what is required for my bike to make a run and i also need to know what i need to do to be ready also the rules and also schedules (probably for next year if i finish) i have the bike (capable of mid to upper 600 hp) i am debating on running the naked class due to lack of fairings or run mine as is and just over come the drag of missing lower fairings
i am wanting to test the waters and i just need to know what and how and when its time to follow some dreams and try things ive wanted to do
any insight and help would greatly be appreciated
Thank you in advanced

Where are you planning on making this run Pinky? I assume the closer the better to Indy. I took a look at the Texas Mile website www.texasmile.net There's alot of good safety info and some requirements to run down their track. I'm not a LSR guy but that might be a good place to start looking!

First time you learn lots, if you want to go fast next year go to a meet this year, shorten up your bike a little, and make some passes, you should be quick but not necessarily setting records, setup will vary lots depending on the venue, learn from the guys around you , landspeeders are a friendly lot One trap to be wary of is lowering the front of the bike too much, under braking with lots of windpressure you can capture the front guard, Walt wrote a good description of his experiances on SH Org , i have done it and wondered why the bike gets fishtaily everytime the throttle is closed on the salt, but you have to shut down sometime...

Some quick times done "naked" recently, Noonan at 240mph in the dirt would have been spectacular, McVicar before that at 235+, of course they had a bit more room than an Airstrip event would. I think they ran std or close to std height .
