Doubling a tacho signal
«

I am running an after market Tacho on my Busa turbo dragbike, problem is that when it is set to 4 cyl the tacho only reads half of true reading. Does anyone know if it is possible to double a tacho signal?

Schnitz's launch/shift lights run 2cyl mode.

No it only goes down to 4 cyl. Its an automotive tacho. Thinking about cracking the back open and seeing what function the switch serves, e.g. is it a resistor or what.

is it a plug and play?
are you tapping in from the tach signal from the ECU? If not that may be a route to go.
Whats the issue with the stock tach?

I replaced the stock dash with my own layout, A/F, Fuel Pressure, Water temp, boost and tacho. The bike will not do street work anymore, only 1/4 mile.
I tapped off the ECU signal so no good there. I tried to see if I could pick up something from the crank sensor but had no joy there either. I went back to the supplier of the tacho and they will refund my money and I will have to find a different tacho.
