My 1986 GS1150E bought it of the showroom floor in 85. Was a great bike. Won all kinds of streetraces with it. had a Star racing head, G3 cams and a 1229cc big bore kit. 40mm RS flatslide carbs. stock wheelbase it ran 10 sec 1/4 miles all day. This is me in Huntsville AL at the Star Racing bracket finals

My first real crotch rocket. I bought it in 89 but it is a 90 model GSXR1100. 39 Keihins, 1216cc piston kit, superbike mike ported head, stock cams. I was showing off riding wheely's at the Columbus drag strip got in a speed wobble and crashed the bike after setting the front tire down. back in 90 it would go 6.60's in the 1/8th stock wheelbase and lowered.. R.I.P. was a nice bike and a great color scheme. I went a bought a 92 red/black tiger stripe after this one.

My first really custom built bike that i built myself. It was a 1980 GS1100E that I bought from a guy that worked for star racing in GA. It was all stock then(wheels, tires swingarm). I put a 93 GSXR750 USD front end on it. made a swingarmf rom two GS1150 aluminum arms, used the GSXRwheels and brakes. the bike already had a 1428cc motor that would fly. I ruled the streets for a few years with this bike. finally a turbo GSXR1100 beat me. only real problem it had is it would not crank back up hot. you had to let it sit a minute. it was 68" inches long and would run 5.70's in the 1/8th. never took it to the 1/4 mile.

I'll skip all the drawthrough turbo bandits and stuff. My first 300 RWHP bike. A 95 Mr. turbo ZX11. rods, turbo pistons, lockup, undercut trans, to help it spool quick, burnt up #3 rod a couple of times before I found the oil pan mod you had to do to them. It was the FI kit and you had to manually adjust this gold box in the tail every time the weather changed. I had little lines scratched on the box for day settings and night settings. I kicked a bunch of tail on the street. ran a best of 5.80's in the 1/8th. was a great bike.

tried a light weight bike the new and improved 1998 Kaw ZX9R I was to heavy for it but before I stretched it I could ride long wheelies on it. It dropped a valve, burnt up #3 rod a couple of times and generally had a weak clutch. I put it back stock and sold it. Here I am at Montgomery at a bracket race.

My first turbo Busa. 99 was a Hahn kit. bike had a extrudehonded head and sotted cam sprockets. I just used a Hahn map and we tuned it on the Harley shop Dyno with no sniffer. (My buddy worked there and we used it for free at night) the dyno would only read to 200 HP, don't know why but back then it was better than nothing. I actually won a streetbike shootout on this bike at Steele Alabama. not many people had turbo's back then and I was the only turbo Hayabusa, heck not many people had Hayabusa's. I won with a 8.84 @ 158mph. Bike was lowered and was 68" inches. this is the bike I had at the 03 Prostar race mike.

OK I have a thing for Turbo Bandits. the drwthrough turbo system from Mr Turbo is as easy to tune as it gets. HSR42 mikuni with a 230 main jet and a holley red pump and your good to go. Here is my 97 naked bandit 1200 turbo. I used a 8" inch GS1150 headlight on it. US didn't come naked that year. 230 RWHP. it was red but I painted it that old Chevy Camaro IROC blue.

My 98 same kit different bike. It was the black one. I used a Hayabusa rear wheel so I could run a 200 tire. I had to make spacers for the Bandit axle for it to work

85 1150 turbo. 1500cc would suck in small animals when you got it spooling if they were close. You could blow your run by getting your leg to close to the carb and it would suck it up to it and mess a good run up. it doesn't look like much but a friend of mine went a 5.02 in the 1/8th mile on this bike. It handled like crap and had way more motor than the chassis could handle. plus it was ugly.

I would have to say the Bandit 1200's with a Mr. Turbo kit is by far my favorite bike to have. I liked them a lot. not so much to race but for an everyday ride around streetbike. I will build another and keep it. Simple, fast and fun to ride.

well i wounder how hard it would be to turbo a new bandit. the old was a great bike but it needed a couple things and the new one has those changes. a 6 speed water cooled fuel injected motor.
