I took the motor in early Jan to have it built...3 weeks later i had it back and it was awesome service ect....So i figure they built the motor they should do the tuning and prime the motor ect. I dropped it off early march and it needed the AMS1000, TIC1000 and a tune. Week by week it kept getting pushed back because of illness, tuner problems, ect....Finally after 5 weeks I was like fuck this and off I went to get my bike. Showed up got it and went to Stedmans the next day. Upon arrival Jay notices some stuff that doesn't look correct. So he pulls the plenum and finds metal shavings in the up pipe, no water in my Ultra plenum only the exchanger had been filled, the oil line to the pan is kinked and the ams 1000 was not even correctly hooked up. I'm prob still forgetting stuff, then we go to dyno it and bam it pushes through the clutch and makes a whopping 50HP, takes the clutch off and its missing plates. So we start making pulls and the TIC's not working and is making the bike drop at 9300RPM....at this point i'm fuck it take it off I don't wanna pay twice again to have it done and lets just get to tunning. Next day start tunning again and its making Shitty power, turns out the cams are set WAY WAY high, so now i have to go in and have the cams redone. Then 2 pulls later it snaps the chain off, take the cover off and the front sprocket is wiggling back and forth "after I requested to have it correctly put on" Overall I like Jerry Cooper and think he is a standup guy, things have been going rough for him lately and he seems to not have anyone in his shop to do tuning or electrical work. I still have yet to call Jerry and discuss these things with him because i've been busy driving back and forth trying to get my bike tuned and just wanna get my bike right first. I think Jerry did a great job on my motor so far. Its just an unfortunate series of events that have happened and are not caused by intent sometimes shit just goes south. I just don't think i received the quality of work that I just paid for on Friday to have my tic, ams and some other stuff done. I'm not gonna ask for a full refund but I am gonna see how he feels about some of the stuff happening "ams to be reworked, cams adjusted" I hope this isn't taken as bashing its just an honest explanation of what has gone on so far.

so far stedman has been unbelieveable thumbs  up Those guys put a bike together from the ground up and installed and tuned a turbo the first day i got there plus worked on mine. Jay has been working every kink out of this bike and def knows his stuff so far. I am VERY VERY Glad I took it to him. Having his own ultra kit he recognized problems right of the bat. I don't wanna even think what would have happened if someone else would have tried to dyno my bike with no water in the plenum and metal shavings in my plenum. He also has been taking the time to go over the tuning with me and let me watch the microtech logs and just overall kinda be involved and explain as we go along what is happening.

Hey Guys, Ace I know how you feel, but unfortunatly when we screw with something we dont know about, we pay and then some,  yesterday my AC system at the house went nuts I even found the problem had leaky valve I could not buy R-22 to refill it I even had all the equipment, the SOBs at the appliance supply place would not sell me the stuff I think R-12 would have worked but was not sure, so it cost me $150. to have my system recharged, as far as the bike, if I didn't do my own stuff I would not have the bike, I have never delt with Coopers, Richard is very helpful even before I bought anything from him, Jay Steadman has done me ok a couple of differant times, Tommy Cole would not piss on him if he was on fire, and if things happened the way Tommy said I cant blame him, so in that respect my first choice would be Richard, unless Tony has gotten a dyno recently, just the cost of getting the bike to Richard can be a bitch, there are several guys that would do a stand up job depending on how far you wanted to haul the bike, and a lot of them dont advertise much so anybody out of there area would not know, whats kind of funny about this, is how pissed Tommy was with Jay, and he took his bike to Coopers, and he thinks there great ? good luck   Dave

oh yeah me and Tommy are good friends. Seeing what all he went through we thought we were helping me dodge a huge bullet and in all honesty its not been that bad, i would say the build has gone rather well and just 1 shop has messed up a few things. Yea i don't doubt Tommy one bit its just weird how things happen. I mean cooper did really good on my motor so far and then kinda dumped on me with the other stuff. Tommy really hated to see me go to stedman but after not being able to get up a time frame to go see richard and then the cooper ordeal I was just like WTF where am i gonna go I means hell. I know Jay is a turbo guy and hes only 160 miles away so I went. Plus richard recommend him and on top of all that the motorhead and Jay are old friends so all "reputations" aside thats some earth shattering turbo knowledge between "RCC, stedman, and Dennis" and all 3 have been giving insight into this bike and that knowledge has proven itself to me so far....every little problem we hit it wasn't like hands on the hips and wow never seen that man i don't know.....it was well this would cause that to do this therefore this is our problem yada yada yada.
